Love a good glass of vino but hate hitting the gym to work it off? We’ve got good news …
Research conducted by the University of Alberta in Canada has found that health benefits in resveratrol, a compound found in red wine, are similar to those we get from exercise.
Resveratrol was seen to improve physical performance, heart function and muscle strength in the same way as they’re improved after a gym session.
According to lead researcher, Jason Dyck, these findings will particularly help those who are unable to exercise. Discussion over the health benefits of red wine have been well documented.
“Resveratrol could mimic exercise for people or improve the benefits of the modest amount of exercise that they can do.”
Studies have revealed that those who drink a glass of red wine a day are less likely to develop dementia or cancer, that it’s good for your heart, anti-ageing and can regulate blood sugar.
As the sun set over the Carpathian Range,
and the wolves began to howl…
The villagers marched up to Bran Castle,
on their faces an evil scowl…
As they reached the front gate
they were no longer irate…
as they spied Count Drac at his table,
In his hand a bottle next to a glass,
with the name “Bats Blood” on the label.
The fifth of November,
Gunpowder,treason and plot,
We see no reason why
Should ever be forgot…
